You need to pass your level two grading and then ask if you can join the instructor training program.

My name's Mark.

No. I recommend learning from a good instructor! Master James has produced two excellent teaching aids, Pure & Simple and Wallbag Training (which contains so much it's title doesn't do it justice). These will give you a superb foundation- things to practice at home. However, he would definitely tell you that while it is essential you practice in your own time, there is no substitute for a good instructor- of which the UKWCKFA has plenty!

Where do you train Matt?

I train at the North London Full Time School under Sifu Mark Phillips and what i've learned in terms of training by yourself is, if there's one thing to practice the most by yourself at home, it's footwork... Footwork is the most important thing in our martial art because if you can't use your legs properly or don't have hand/leg coordination then it wouldn't matter how good your hand skills our as it's your footwork that makes you faster and more mobile...

I'l be part of the demo team this saturday performing Lok Sau in the morning which i'm really nervous about but looking forward to nonetheless...

Look forward to meeting you all there :-) ...

hi onder thanx for the info and your lok sau drill was coool the whole seminar was mind blowing and made me more eager than ever to put 110% into every class not that i dont already do that but it made me raelise that what i had learnt so far may have seemed like quite a lot but watching all the forms has made me realise im only just scraping the surface of wing chun. i lok forward to more events and seminars in the future and i guess ill see u round       cheers matt
